Our Vision

To improve the quality of education for deprived children

Our Mission

To provide access to quality educational resources which will help children reach their true potential and create better opportunities

Why Nigeria?

Our work is centred in the city of Ogbomosho in south-west Nigeria which is the hometown of our founder and chairman, Dr. Imran Alawiye. Following a visit to his village, he saw the state the schools were in - dilapidated buildings with a lack of textbooks, furniture, science equipment and basic resources. The stark difference to schools in the UK inspired him to take initiative and make a change.

What does HHE do?

Funded entirely by donations, HHE collects old educational books from UK schools and individuals and ships them to Ogbomosho to local schools to give children an opportunity to be educated and have a better start in life. To date, we have sent over 65,000+ textbooks to Nigeria.

Our dream!

Unfortunately, the local schools in Ogbomosho are poorly equipped, with no shelving, no locks on doors and often no windows, that it has not yet been possible to distribute the books for use.

Our ambition is to establish an Educational Resource Centre where local schools can access the resources they need to deliver a higher standard of education to children. This hub will enable schools to withdraw enough textbooks for a class, use and return them later for other schools to borrow, therefore reaching thousands of children with fewer resources.
